Lois Elaine Walters, 87, a longtime Jasper, MO resident and current resident at Truman Health and Rehab in Lamar, MO passed away on January 4, 2023, at 7:50 AM. She was born at home on September 30, 1935 in Cedar County, MO to Lois (Bridger) and Lawrence Barritt and was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Eldorado Spring High School in 1954. She met Charles Walters at the Nevada City Park where both of their sons from previous marriages were playing. They married on September 5, 1964, and remained married for 55 years until his death in 2020. She resided at Truman for 6 years due to a Cerebral Aneurysm that caused Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
She was a loving wife and mother, raised three boys and was a homemaker her entire life. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, was a talented singer, and an avid country music fan for her entire life.
Lois is survived by her two sons Leland Walters of Kimberling City, MO and David Walters of Lamar, MO. She is also survived by and blessed with her grandchildren; Moriah Cruse and husband Corey of Lamar, MO, and David Walters and wife Allison of Jasper, MO, 6 great-grandchildren; Eden, Parker and Ivy Cruse of Lamar, MO and Addey, Myrah, DJ, and baby Emori (due June 2023) Walters of Jasper, MO. She is also survived by her sister Sandy McInteer and husband Jack of Lawrence, KS; brother Jim Barritt of Anahiem Hills, CA; and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Kevin Walters, brothers Larry and Randy Barritt, and sister-in-law Jo Barritt.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday January 9, 2023, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
