William Gail Parker

William Gail Parker, 71, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, William was raised by his mother Violette and step father Marion “Sandy” Ambler. He graduated from high school in Kansas City and soon after proudly enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he began a long career as an over-the-road truck driver.

William later met the love of his life, Betty Gilmore, and the two shared 30 devoted years of marriage until her passing in 2022.

He had a passion for wrestling, working on cars, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren—always with an orange soda in hand.

William is survived by his children: Susie Willis of Lamar, MO; Glenda Gibson of Marshall, MO; Rebecca Wiseman of Brunswick, MO; Amy Wilkinson of Willard, MO; Tina Musgrove of Marshall, MO; Johnnie Ryan of California; ReDonda (William) Key of Lamar, MO; Remanda Parker of Lamar, MO; Joshua (Jami) Parker of Lamar, MO; Thomas (Jessica) Parker of Lamar, MO; and Charles Parker of Lamar, MO. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his brother, Frank Ambler (Michelle) of Belton, MO.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty, his parents, brothers Charles and James, and his daughter Duffie Scott.

William will be remembered for his loyalty to his family, his steady presence, and the joy he found in the simple things.
